I recently posted on Instagram that I would like for my hair to reach
MID-BACK LENGTH (MBL) by December 31, 2015! To some that may seem too close or unrealistic and to others that may seem very doable. I guess we will just have to wait and see when the time comes! ;)
Currently, my hair is between arm pit length and bra strap length so I definitely believe it is possible for me to reach my next hair length goal in December. Of course that is if everything goes well with my hair...and scalp...and exercise and diet regimen...and health...between now and then. And it would be really amazing if I can reach MBL since it is my current ultimate hair length goal. Based off of progress pictures I have recently taken, it appears that I need about 3 to 4 inches of growth before I can claim MBL !
What am I planning to do to make this happen?:
1. The Greenhouse Effect: My goal for this particular plan is to do the Greenhouse Effect at least 4 nights a week using one of the oils listed on the post: 'My Staple Hair Care Products.'
2. Protective Styles: Twists, wigs, and buns and more wigs, twists and buns! I will be wearing my hair in twists more than anything because I find them to be very low maintenance and convenient. I also love the look of a nice, classy bun so I may wear one occasionally. Also, I am a huge fan of wearing wigs (yes, even in this hot, southern heat lol!) since I can easily change up my hairstyle without doing any damage to my own hair. Check out my protective style challenge here!!
3. Scalp Massages: Every single night my scalp gets a massage for at least 5 minutes (most nights it is a lot longer). Some nights I choose not to apply an oil to my scalp but if I do, I typically use Sunny Isle's Extra Dark Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Alikay Naturals Essential 17 Hair Growth Oil or Mielle Organics Mint Almond Oil.
4. My Hair Care Regimen: I am sticking with my hair care regimen for the remainder of the year as I have seen my hair flourish because of this regimen. (By the way, everything I do to my hair during the cooler months is pretty much the same for the hotter months)
5. Healthy Diet and Exercise Regimen + Healthy Hair Supplements: Along with eating right and exercising on a consistent basis, I plan on taking my Mielle Organics Advanced Healthy Hair Formula. Not only will I be taking necessary steps on the outside, but the inside as well.
That pretty much sums up the few steps I will be taking to grow my hair longer this year. I do believe it is possible for me to get to MBL, as long as I am consistent, patient and gentle with my hair (and body). We will have to wait another 5 months or so to see if I reach this goal in December!! Let the countdown begin...

I decided to use crotchet braids as my protective style and moisturize every two days.
I hope it works for me.
