August 8 sounds so far away but just like everything else, it is right around the corner! I'm believing in these next 3 months (89 days, to be exact) I can achieve some great results with my hair. I thought I'd share with you all what I would like to achieve with my hair by the time this challenge ends.
* Longer hair: I definitely want to gain at least one inch a month this challenge (or 3 inches by the time the challenge ends). Normally, I am able to gain half an inch a month but I want to see if I can double that. If not, no worries, that'll be my goal for the next challenge I create. I figured though with the consistent scalp massages, applying hair growth oils to my scalp, doing the Greenhouse Effect and taking my vitamins faithfully I would really challenge myself and see if one inch a month is doable for my hair!
* More Movement: I know with my hair being extra thick and very kinky, it naturally does not move like other hair types. However, I am determined to see more movement with my twist outs, braid outs and bantu knot outs (basically any hair style in which my hair is stretched). My hair does move, it is not stiff, but I would love for my styles to have a little more bounce, especially with summer time on its way and me wearing my hair out more on the weekends. I am confident that if I am consistent with using moisturizing products on a daily basis then my hair will have the body I am looking for!
* Little to No Single Strand Knots: My hair is pretty healthy but the single strand knots are starting to pick up a bit. And, I know it has to do with me quickly detangling my hair when I should take my time with the process and make sure my hair is completely tangle free. Before starting the challenge I did the 'search and destroy' method to get rid of any excessively dry, damaged ends. And, it will be my goal to properly and gently detangle my hair to prevent those pesky things from returning as often.
That's pretty much it -- longer, healthier, bouncier hair! That sounds doable, right?! We will see on August 8! And, if you have not seen my #100Day HHC Day One pictures, head over to my Instagram page and scroll down just a tad, you'll see my starting point for this challenge!
Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
